JILL HARRIS
MA, LPC
Jill earned her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Texas Woman’s University in 2008. She has worked with clients of all ages in a variety of community mental health settings including family advocacy centers, pastoral care, crisis behavioral health settings, and private practice. She works with clients through an Adlerian Therapy approach while also implementing techniques from a variety of other therapies to help her clients meet their goals. Jill has witnessed what research supports that people’s spiritual faith can be a powerful pathway to healing, resiliency, and meaning making. She welcomes spiritual work and healing in counseling sessions when this aligns with clients’ desires.
Play therapy is a special area of Jill’s professional training and practice. She has attended trainings by the founder of Adlerian Play Therapy, Dr. Terry Kotman, which helps her connect with children and their parents to facilitate deeper connections, increased feelings of capability, and growing courage to meet the demands of life and the joy of belonging in relationships.
As Garry Landreth the founder of Play Therapy says,”Toys are children’s words and play is their language.” Jill enjoys the opportunity to step into a child’s world by reflecting their unique approach to relationships and life challenges which in turn unlocks the opportunity to choose something different that meets their needs in a more positive way. Her work with children has been recognized twice in DFW Mom Approved Magazine in 2024 and 2025 as a nominated trusted wellness practitioner.
In her free time, Jill enjoys catching up with friends, serving at church, and finding new adventures with her husband and two sons. She enjoys exploring the outdoors, reading, visiting museums, playing pickleball, and contributing to the community through her church and children’s schools.
